PIPELINE CONSTRUCTION

Our main activity is construction and installation of process pipelines of carbon or stainless steel.

These are  industrial and process pipelines intended for product, gas, steam or hot water transportation, low-pressure or high-pressure pipelines, gas ducts.

We also produce and install stainless steel pipelines intended for the food industry. They are in compliance with the highest requirements towards welding quality and hygiene during the installation works.

In our production premises, we have the possibility to produce pipelines according to  isometric diagrams in order to shorten the on-site installation time.

Why are Pipelines Needed?

The pipeline is a long tubular conduit or series of pipes, control devices, fasteners, supports, seals and other fittings.

Process Pipelines

Process pipelines include all pipelines used for transportation of  raw materials, semifinished and finished products; auxiliary materials; industrial waste from aggressive wastewaters. Prior to the start of the pipeline installation, its documentation is thoroughly studied. For sites under construction, these documents are elaborated by a pipeline engineering company and are a part of the design documentation; for existing sites, these documents are elaborated by the company’s Mechanical and Product Engineers.

Installation of Stainless Steel Pipelines

Quick-release couplings consisting of a threaded fitting, a nipple, a coupling nut and a rubber seal are used to assemble the pipelines. The ends of the connected pipes, which are 30-40 mm long, are degreased, the outside is cleaned with an emery wheel and the inside is cleaned with a file.

After removal, the ends of the pipes are washed with 0.5% soda solution, then with warm water, and are finally wiped dry. The fitting or the nipple is pressed tightly against the pipe end, and these are fixed by welding. Before installing the pipe, a connecting nut is placed in position. In order to facilitate the pipeline assembly, the marking is placed on the pipes ends, after the assembly is completed. The distance between two adjacent pipe supports is determined depending on the value of the permissible deviation of the double support beam.

KEY FEATURES

The inner diameter of the pipe is decisive for the reliable product transportation. The inner diameter of the pipe is closely related to the product’s pressure, temperature, speed.

Process pipelines are characterized by:

  • Conditional passage / Nominal diameter
  • Nominal/ Conditional pressure
  • Operational pressure

Conditional passages are used during the construction of process pipelines. This approach allows to reduce the number of dimensions, as well as the types of junctions that are part of the structure.

Nominal pressure is used to control changes in junctions strength during the pressure exposure process, as well as the high temperature of the substance to be distilled.

The excess pressure at which the pipeline is operated while the temperature is under 70°C but not less than 5° C, is called operational pressure.

CLASSIFICATION AND TYPES OF PIPELINES

Pipelines are classified according to the following indicators:

  •  material
  • nominal pressure
  • temperature
  • aggressiveness of the substance
  • location
  • fire hazard
  • type of substance transported
  • impact on the human body

Depending on the substance being transported, the pipes can be divided into pipes for transportation of gas, oil, water, pipes for pumping gasoline and the mass of other pipelines.

With regards to the material they are made of, we distinguish between steel pipes, non-ferrous pipes, cast iron pipes, bimetal, enamel pipes and non-metal pipes.

Depending on the pressure at which the product is transported, we are talking about:

  • negative pressure;
  • unlimited pressure
  • high pressure
  • low pressure
  • no excessive pressure

Depending on the temperature at which the product is transported, there are cold, normal and hot pipes. In terms of product aggressiveness, pipelines can transport low- aggressive, medium- aggressive and non-aggressive products. A pipeline can be located in the same premises, or it can pass through several ones.

Harmful substances can act in different ways and, according to GOST, they are divided into 4 types.
